Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement
The city of Marktredwitz aims to make its website accessible—in accordance with the Regulation on Digitalization in the Free State of Bavaria (BayDiV).
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.marktredwitz.de.
Preparation of This Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on June 11, 2026.
This statement was last reviewed and updated on: June 17, 2026
The accessibility assessment was conducted through a self-assessment using automated external testing tools (including Google Lighthouse, the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool, and Siteimprove Accessibility Checker) as well as supplementary manual tests performed by a staff member of the press office and a member of the representative body for people with severe disabilities of the City of Marktredwitz.
Status of Compliance with the Requirements
The Marktredwitz city website is partially compliant with the BayDiV.
As part of the self-assessment, it was determined that the website does not yet ensure full accessibility in accordance with the requirements of the BayDiV. The city of Marktredwitz is therefore working diligently to improve the accessibility of its website.
Content that is not accessible
The following content is not currently accessible:
- Some image elements lack [alt] attributes, or the alternative text is redundant or ambiguous.
- Some graphical controls lack a clear description, and link text is not always descriptive enough to make the link destination obvious.
- <iframe> elements lack a title or alternative text.
- For videos with purely visual content, no audio description or full-text alternative is provided.
- PDF files are not yet fully available in an accessible format. Due to the large number of PDFs that need to be updated, we cite a disproportionate burden within the meaning of Section 9(4) of the Bavarian Accessibility Directive (BayDiV).
- Some controls (e.g., social media icons, language selection, menu) are not accessible via keyboard navigation.
- In some cases, heading elements are not arranged in a continuous descending order, or heading levels are skipped.
- Status messages (e.g., regarding incorrect entries in form fields) are not detected by the screen reader.
- The contrast ratio between background and foreground colors is sometimes insufficient. (However, this barrier can be removed using the accessibility tool from digi · access—see “Voluntary Measures.”)

- Accessibility Tool: With the integrated “digi · smart Plugin,” you can adjust a wide range of custom settings to improve the readability and visibility of the website’s content.
